Pip Shields, Wagin Agricultural Society's Young Rural Ambassador for 2011
The Wagin Agricultural Society has launched its search for the Young Rural Ambassador for 2012.
Apart from being part of the wonderful team that organizes the event, next year’s YRA has the honour to represent Woolorama at its 40th birthday.
The Rural Ambassador will have the opportunity to get to know the inner workings of Woolorama, meet and work with the volunteers who make the show happen and get to meet and mingle with the official guests at the Woolorama weekend.
The chosen applicant will continue to represent the Wagin Agricultural Society at the regional and state rounds of the Young Rural Ambassador competition.
If you would like to raise awareness of a rural issue or promote your community, the YRA position is for you providing a stage to present your issue and voice your opinion to make a difference.
During the Woolorama the Young Rural Ambassador get to attend the Appreciation Function on Thursday night, participate in the official opening of Woolorama, attend the official luncheon and present some trophies during the show.
Young Rural Ambassador for 2011 Pip Shields will accompany you on your tour of the show grounds. Pip did a wonderful job representing Wagin Agricultural Society at last year’s event.
“I really enjoyed the Woolorama and the experience the Rural Ambassador role has provided me,” said Ms Shields. “It's a very special role.”
