Record breaking, breath taking action a promise for the Woolorama Rodeo spectacular

The Woolorama is an action packed event over two days and would not be complete without a spectacular Rodeo performance for the grand finale.

This year the Rodeo is promising to be more engaging with non-stop entertainment for two and a half thrilling hours.

National Rodeo Queen Jo-Lee Kestel is at the helm of the event this year and is promising to deliver a stunning and unforgettable performance.

Ms Kestel is a former WA and Australian Rodeo Queen, WA’s first and only winner.

As patron of the Woolorama Rodeo Ms Kestel has been fundamental in the development and success of the Wagin Woolorama Rodeo since it first commenced in 2008. She has been working tirelessly alongside the Woolorama committee to guarantee that the Rodeo and finale to Woolorama is a thrilling end to the prestigious event and something to remember.

Ms Kestel will closely be working with Stacey Lambert, the reigning National Rodeo Council of Australia’s WA Rodeo Queen.

“As I am carrying on my reign this year, it is my pleasure to be involved in co-coordinating such a thrilling finale - the 2010 Woolorama Rodeo,” Ms Lambert said.

Ms Lambert recently coordinated the Legends of Rodeo School which will ensure the Cowboys are at their very best and will be bringing some old and new faces to the Woolorama Rodeo this year.

After a jam packed season for Rodeo in WA the Cowboys, Cowgirls and Rough Stock are all in peak condition, many fighting it out point for point for NRCA-WA state titles.

“We will see some record breaking, breath taking and thrilling competition and performances,” said Ms Lambert. “Not to mention the spectacular thrills and spills, when things don’t quite go to plan.”

This year will see a full Rodeo program with the inclusion of the highly skilled Timed Events including Roping and Steer Wrestling to name a few, which will compliment the heart stopping action of the bulls, broncs and barrel racing.

Some of the best Cowboys and Cowgirls in Australia will be in attendance, with the Wagin Woolorama Rodeo fast becoming the highlight of the WA Rodeo calendar.

Ms Lambert will be promoting the event at the Rodeo WA tent during Woolorama and invites everyone to drop by and see their Hall of Fame and photos of current Rodeo stars in action.

Some memorabilia will be for sale to help Ms Lambert’s campaign for the Australian Rodeo Queen Quest which will be judged in May this year. “I hope to attend Woolorama as the Rodeo Queen of Australia next year,” Ms Lambert said.

The Rodeo will start at 5pm on Saturday afternoon and wristbands for entry can be obtained from the Woolorama Information tent for $5.

There is a separate licensed area at the Rodeo with local band The Last Stand performing until late.
