Blights Haulage Woolorama Rodeo a huge success

 Tue, 6th Apr, 2021

There was plenty to get excited about at the 2021 Blights Haulage Wagin Woolorama Rodeo.  A new section steward and a new major sponsor made the event a huge success with 220 competitors and a sell-out crowd of 1,400 spectators!  The program filled with excitement was perfect to finish off the Wagin Woolorama weekend, with Perth band The Sheds continuing the entertainment through to midnight.

A great partnership, the new Platinum sponsor Blight’s Haulage is a young company that has grown over the last few years and pride themselves on providing the highest quality of service in every aspect of their business.  Kyran of Blights Haulage says, ‘we chose to sponsor the Wagin Woolorama as it is a local event and we wanted to give back to the community that has supported and continues to support our business.’

2021 Woolorama Rodeo Steward Jay Ward took on the huge task of coordinating the event this year.  COVID19 Safety requirements added a level of complexity in preparing for this year’s event.  It couldn’t happen without all the sponsors, staff, volunteers, competitors and patrons who supported the event. Without all the support we wouldn’t have had the event, nor would it have been as successful as it was.’

Result highlights of the event are Open Bull Ride 80-point winner Jake Maher, Novice Bull Ride 70-point winner Brook White, Ladies Barrel Race Wendy Harris on Bindi, Saddle Bronc Mick Reimers, Bareback equal winners were Wade McCarthy and Isaac LeClair and Team Roping Maverick De Burgh and Dylan Ruff.

We would like to thank our generous sponsors Blights Haulage, Spurry’s Transport, Ringers Western, McGuffie Transport, Wagin IGA Express, Morgan Feed Supplies, Byfields Business Advisers and Shire of Wagin. They make so much of it possible and chose to sponsor an event during what are uncertain times.

The Wagin Agricultural Society would like to thank ABCRA for continuing to support the Woolorama Rodeo Event.
