Press Release: Wagin Woolorama COVID-19 Event Safety

 Sat, 19th Feb, 2022

Wagin Woolorama would like to give confidence to the community that the event management team has taken every precaution to look after patrons, exhibitors, staff and volunteer health.

Wagin Woolorama would like to give confidence to the community that the event management team has taken every precaution to look after patrons, exhibitors, staff and volunteer health.  The 50th Wagin Woolorama event will proceed on the 11th and 12th March 2022 unless the State Government advises us that it is not safe to run.  A COVID Event Safety Plan approved by the Department of Health and the Chief Health Officer is in place and will guide the events team to run a COVID safe event.

Measures in place include but are not limited to:

  • Mandatory proof of vaccination for everyone aged 16 years or over
  • Contact Tracing using the Service WA app
  • Mask Wearing will be required for all indoor areas and some outdoor areas where physical distancing is not possible
  • Provision of hand sanitiser
  • COVID Safety Marshalls
  • Increased cleaning regime
  • Area density requirements

The Wagin Agricultural Society has committed significant resources to ensure the Wagin Woolorama COVID-19 Event Safety Plan is implemented thoroughly to ensure the safety of our patrons. At the 2021 Woolorama, we implemented a successful COVID Event Safety Management plan costing the organisation over $50 000.  We are confident and committed to providing the resources to run a COVID Safe Show.

Wagin Woolorama will continue to monitor Public Health Directions leading into the event.  Your health is important, we want to keep our community safe and enjoy a great day out at the 50th Wagin Woolorama.
