Next Gen Ag is a program encouraging young people to be involved in the Agricultural Show movement. Next Gen Ag encourages the next generation of Australian agricultural entrepreneurs to be actively involved in agricultural shows so that they can continue to contribute to the success of Australian agricultural endeavours and secure the future of agricultural shows.
The Rural Ambassador Award is a National Competition that highlights and celebrates young people who have a genuine interest in rural and regional Australia or New Zealand. The Wagin Woolorama has a very successful Rural Ambassador Program that has seen multiple Woolorama Rural Ambassadors succeed at the State and National Level. More information
Young farmers from around the country showcase their expertise in a series of on-farm challenges showcasing the depth of knowledge and technical skills required in agriculture today. These challenges can be anything from animal handling to fencing, driving tractors, putting out fires, first aid, heavy lifting and transport challenges. The Woolorama Young Farmers challenge sees the winners go and compete at the Perth Royal Show State Young Farmers Challenge. In 2020 Wagin held their inaugural Young Farmers Challenge. The Wagin Woolorama host Young Judge and Parader competitions in the Cattle, Merino, Wool and Poll Dorset sections where competitors can qualify for the Perth Royal Show Competition each September. More information
